Whether you love or hate his music, personality or whatever else, we need to talk about him.

When Forrest Frank decided not to attend the Dove Awards this year, you’d have thought he had declared a new Reformation.

One half of the Internet applauded his conviction. The other half accused him of immaturity, hypocrisy, or poor timing. Some were angry that he changed his mind the week of the show. Others were angry that he didn’t handle it the “right way.”

But beneath all that, something remarkable was happening. A popular believer changed his mind publicly. And the world, including much of the Christian world, could not comprehend that such a thing could be permissible… let alone good.

We have forgotten that changing one’s mind can be an act of worship. In fact, the whole process of sanctification could be described in such terms: regularly changing one’s mind toward the mind of Christ.
